BBC Wimbledon: When Robson met Sharapova - with a little help from Glenn

29 Jun 2014

British tennis number one, Laura Robson, premiered her new reporting role for BBC Wimbledon with an exclusive interview with world number two, Maria Sharapova - after TV and media training from Glenn Kinsey.

In an intimate and relaxed interview (video below), Sharapova reflects on her Wimbledon victory 10 years ago as well as discussing her recent victory at the French Open, superstitions and the Spice Girls!

TV & Radio Training

Currently recovering from a wrist injury, Laura is off the court but on camera for Wimbledon as part of this summer's BBC Sport commentary team.

And she turned to Glenn for help in advance of her debut with a day's intensive coaching to prepare her for a mixture of reporting, presenting, interviewing and commentary for both TV and radio during the BBC's flagship coverage of the competition.

She proved to be just as talented on-screen as she is on-court and she's already receiving fantastic feedback from viewers and producers alike.

Olympic medal winner

Winner of a silver medal with mixed doubles partner Andy Murray at the 2012 London Olympics, 20-year old Laura is tipped for even greater tennis success after recently being the first Briton to rank in the world top 30 since Jo Durie in 1987.
