Glenn's client, President Jakaya Kikwete, was today sworn in after winning a second term in Tanzania's presidential and parliamentary elections.
The ceremony took place at Dar-es-Salaam's National Stadium and means that Kikwete returns for a second and final 5 year term.
$1 billion+ health initiative
His first term in office has seen many notable successes, including a tour of the country by US President Bush in 2008, resulting in a record $1 billion+ health inititiative as well as nearly $500 million of direct investment.
President Obama
Kikwete has been a familiar face on the international stage and was the first African president to meet with US President Obama at The White House.
Popular in the West, he's often been seen as a model African leader, further cemented by his recent Presidency of The African Union.
Glenn Kinsey first began advising President Kikwete in the run-up to the first national elections in 2005.
First Lady
We've also subsequently advised his wife, The First Lady Mama Salma Kikwete who's scored significant wins for the country as patron of numerous charities, in particular highlighting African women's issues on the international stage.
On a personal level, President Kikwete and the people of Tanzania have become great friends with our team and we're absolutely delighted that he's set to continue to build upon the massive achievements secured during his first term, attracting record investment, huge advances in the building of new schools and continued economic growth and stability.
