At last night's star-studded BBC Talent finals, Glenn's client, Tayfun Kadioglu beat over 1,600 hopefuls to be offered a job as a BBCi presenter.
By a huge majority, he was "The People's Choice" after thousands of BBCi users voted for him, along with a judging panel featuring TV presenter, Gail Porter; BBC Director of New Media and Technology, Ashley Highfield; and ICM Celebrity Agent, Samira Higham.
A ten-month trawl for new talent culminated in last night's ceremony where the five winners conducted live interviews with celebrities Chris Eubank, Samantha Mumba, Barbara Windsor, James Gooding and Ed Hall.
"There are a lot of talented people out there", said Tayfun. "And your training really gave me the edge - thanks guys!"
Your training really gave me the edge - I really benefited from it
Tayfun attended one of our Television Presenter Courses earlier this year.
He told us, "Having that day meant that I wasn't nervous about all the technology and earpieces and stuff in the auditions, which meant I was able to concentrate on the interviews and presenting rather than what was going on around me!"
"I just want to thank everyone on Glenn's team for all the help and feedback I had on the course. It gave me invaluable experience to prepare for my auditions and screentests. I really benefited from it."
His sister and unoffical "campaign manager", Julia, gave her verdict on the ceremony: "He was absolutely shocked and overwhelmed. I wish I could tell you that he handled the announcement with style and grace, but sadly, as he'd already written off his chances, he didn't listen to what the winners were supposed to do in the rehearsal. Hence he clumsily clambered onto the stage and thanked and kissed all the wrong people whilst ignoring the judges including the Head of BBCi! Some things will never change!"
Tayfun is due to start his job as a BBC presenter in February 2003.
Congratulations to Tayfun from everyone here!
