20% of the 20 finalists in ITV's "This Morning" Search for a Weather Star are graduates of Glenn Kinsey's, One-Day Television Presenters Course.
Ali Cook, Justine Hodgson, Victoria Showers and Carla Laszlo reached the finals after thousands of would-be weather forecasters sent in applications to the programme.
Viewers watched as the judges - ITV Weather presenter, Sian Lloyd; talent agent, Jon Roseman; and Met Office Media Presentation Controller, Rex Roskilly - put the finalists through their paces before selecting five presenters for the viewers' vote in today's Grand Final.
Glenn's trainees
Two of the five - Victoria Showers and Carla Laszlo - were Glenn's trainees and, during a live interview with This Morning presenter, John Lesley, they both publicly credited their headstart to his course.
Throughout this past week, the final five were sent out on location to Blackpool and the famous This Morning floating weather map to present a variety of weather reports.
13,996 votes were cast by a predominantly female viewing public and - despite being tipped as the judges' clear favourite in "The Daily Mail" newspaper (26/06/02) - Carla came in second with 22% of the vote. The competition's dapper winner, Robin Lermitte, was the housewives favourite, scoring 35% of the vote.
Great future
The judging panel predicted a great future for all five finalists and Robin will now undergo training at the Met Office before taking up his one-year contract as an ITV weather presenter.
Congratulations to all the finalists from everyone here!
